G4-108 is a compact repair kit for the DAF F2P common rail injector used on PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines. It covers the everyday jobs a workshop needs most: holding and opening the injector safely, adapting the injector to standard service equipment, and resetting the solenoid valve spring load with graded adjusting shims.

Where the full G4-106 disassembly kit is aimed at complete teardown, G4-108 is the simpler, lower cost option for workshops that mainly need to service the solenoid valve and the injector internal spring setting.

Why Shim Adjustment Matters on F2P Injectors

The solenoid valve spring load governs how fast the control valve opens and closes on a DAF F2P injector. Once the injector has been opened for service, the original spring setting is disturbed and must be restored with the correct shim. If the shim is wrong, the injector will run with incorrect injection timing, rough idle, extra fuel consumption and a returned-injector rate that costs the workshop money.

G4-108 provides both shim ranges in 0.01 mm steps, so the spring load can be dialed back to the specification listed for the injector under repair.

How To Use G4-108

1. Extract the DAF F2P injector from the cylinder head.

2. Fix the injector in the JC-87 body tool and secure the body with the CX-215 U-shaped wrench.

3. Open the injector following the DAF / PACCAR service procedure and remove the solenoid valve.

4. Measure the existing shim, select the correct thickness from set A or set B, and fit the new shim.

5. Re-assemble the solenoid valve, then test the injector on a common rail test bench before refitting it to the engine.

Compatible Vehicles and Engines

The DAF F2P injector is fitted to DAF CF and XF series heavy trucks running PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines, including the Euro 6 generation. Because the same injector family is shared across the MX-11 and MX-13 ranges, one kit covers a large part of the DAF truck population in Europe, the Middle East and South America.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this kit different from the G4-106? The G4-106 is a complete disassembly kit for opening the full injector including the nozzle and control valve. G4-108 is the simple version, focused on the solenoid valve and spring setting, which is the most common repair on this injector.

Do I need both shim sets? Yes. A and B together cover the full 1.00–1.40 mm adjustment window. Ordering only one set leaves part of the range unavailable.

Can the shims be reused? No. Shims are a one-time setting component. Always fit a new shim of the measured thickness when the injector has been opened.

What else is needed for a complete injector service? A common rail injector test bench is needed to verify the injector after repair. We can quote a matching test bench together with this kit.
